My geometric abstract sculpture "A Better View" is a recently completed bas-relief, made of archival paper and adhesive, depicting an ‘almost-but-not-quite real’ place, offering an ambiguous world, somewhere between authentic and imagined. The work was inspired by an architectural photo and my intent was to interpret the space and the juxtaposition of its forms and shapes. I built this paper sculpture to emphasize the spatial dynamics of the composition, with the hope that the viewer will be compelled to consider and ponder the imagined space.
