Banyan Space 300 19.5"Hx21"Wx1"D
The beautiful and haunting banyan tree intrigues me. This is a collage which emphasizes the spectacular spaces and forms in the canopy of the banyan tree. I printed a group of original photos onto archival drawing paper, then cut them into sections and mounted the pieces, with some elevated to interpret the dynamics of the space, creating a bas-relief effect. After mounting, I drew into the piece with colored pencil, graphite, and charcoal, to emphasize shape, form, and shadow.
