I Didn't Know You 17.5"Hx15"Wx1.5"D
"I Didn’t Know You" is a piece from my series "This is the Book We Never Wrote." Inspired by my personal essay on the parent-child relationship, this work delves into how childhood impressions can shape our perceptions of parents, often solidifying in our minds for years, if not a lifetime. As I navigated adulthood and faced my own challenges, I began to reassess these early impressions, leading to a better understanding of my parents. I now believe they did the best they could, and that we loved each other, even if we really didn’t know each other.
This work is professionally framed and ready for hanging. The frame is white and the work floats atop a white mat. To highlight yet protect the three-dimensional elements of this work, I invested in non-glare Museum Acrylic as its cover.
